Hoot Reading Named Regional Winner of the Xero Beautiful Business Fund
Hoot Reading celebrates being named one of four Canadian winners in the Xero Beautiful Business Fund initiative, receiving financing to advance its mission of transforming childhood literacy.
Hoot Reading, a leading provider of online literacy tutoring for children, has announced its achievement as one of the regional winners of the Xero Beautiful Business Fund in the “Trailblazing with technology” category. This recognition followed a rigorous selection process that saw Hoot Reading grant funds to further its mission of enhancing student literacy rates through 1:1 online instruction.
The Xero Beautiful Business Fund is a new initiative by the global small business platform Xero that aims to support small businesses to boost their growth and meet their ambitions. It was started to celebrate small businesses, empower success, and help accelerate their growth. The Xero Beautiful Business Fund was open to Xero small business customers in Canada (excluding Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the US, and the UK.
Four winners were selected for each region (one for each category), for a total of twenty-eight winners. There were four categories applicants could choose from:
- Innovating for sustainability
- Trailblazing with technology
- Strengthening community connection
- Upskilling for the future
“The Xero Beautiful Business Fund's recognition marks a significant milestone in Hoot Reading’s tech-driven mission to advance childhood literacy,” said Carly Shuler, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Hoot Reading. “We are proud to be one of the fortunate recipients of this prize money, which will empower us to prioritize modernization and growth on our roadmap for lit-tech innovation.”
“We would like to extend a huge congratulations to the team at Hoot Reading as they join an inspiring cohort of four Canadian businesses that each received CAD$15,000 to help boost their growth plans and drive future success, “said Faye Pang, Xero Canada Country Manager. “We are honoured to provide this funding that will see the team prioritize modernization and growth using AI, speech recognition, and machine learning to automate and scale efficiently in partnership with their customers.
