Hoot Reading's Co-CEOs and Co-Founders, Carly Shuler and Maya Kotecha, are honored with the "Women in Tech" award at the 1st Annual Manitoba Tech Awards. Recognized for their exceptional contributions to educational technology, Carly and Maya's vision of leveraging technology for enhanced education accessibility has positively impacted thousands of lives.

Hoot Reading proudly announces that its Co-CEOs and Co-Founders, Carly Shuler and Maya Kotecha, have been recognized with the "Women in Tech" award during the 1st Annual Manitoba Tech Awards.

The Women in Tech award, presented by Joelle Foster, President and CEO of NorthForge, is bestowed upon women founders who have demonstrated outstanding entrepreneurial success in launching technology-focused companies in Manitoba. Carly and Maya, recognized for their exceptional contributions to the educational technology sector, were among the eight award recipients celebrated at this year's ceremony during Manitoba Tech Week.

Carly and Maya co-founded Hoot Reading in 2018 with a shared vision of leveraging technology to enhance education accessibility and outcomes. Their educational research, leadership, and corporate strategy backgrounds have empowered them to eliminate financial barriers to evidence-based instruction. Through Hoot Reading, they have successfully improved equitable access to high-impact literacy instruction, positively impacting the lives of thousands of students through enhanced literacy skills.

“We are humbled and honored to receive the Women in Tech award as part of the inaugural Manitoba Tech Awards," said Carly Shuler. "With less than 30% of tech roles currently held by women, this award not only celebrates our team at Hoot Reading but also highlights the urgency to champion diversity in tech. Hoot Reading strives to break barriers in education and beyond, and we hope more women feel empowered to thrive in the dynamic world of technology.”

Maya Kotecha added, "It's a proud moment for us and Hoot Reading. We are grateful for the support of our community, partners, and the Manitoba Tech Awards for recognizing the importance of promoting women in technology and entrepreneurship."

The Manitoba Tech Awards, presented by Neo Financial, marks a significant milestone in the tech industry's recognition of outstanding achievements within the province. As the first annual event of its kind, it sets the stage for future celebrations of innovation, leadership, and success in Manitoba's tech ecosystem.
