Hoot Reading Joins the 2023 Promising Ventures Fellowship Cohort

Hoot Reading is honored in the 2023 Promising Ventures Fellowship, joining a select group of organizations dedicated to early health, childhood education, and more.

Hoot Reading, a leading online tutoring service providing 1:1, evidence-based literacy instruction, is honored to announce its selection as one of the nine equity-centered organizations chosen for the prestigious 2023 Promising Ventures Fellowship (PVF).

In a milestone year marking the 5th anniversary of the PVF program, Hoot Reading joins a distinguished cohort of organizations dedicated to various areas of impact, including early health, childhood education, child care, caregiver and parent support, and early childhood leader development.

The selection highlights Hoot Reading's commitment to advancing literacy and educational outcomes for children, and the organization is eager to contribute to the collective growth and impact of the cohort. Co-CEO Carly Shuler and VP of Literacy & Learning Caitlin Mehra will be meeting with dedicated coaches each week to create goals for how Hoot Reading can most meaningfully impact the youngest learners across North America, as well as huddle with the Fellowship cohort to share experiences, build connections, and navigate challenges in the field.

"We are thrilled and humbled to be among the exceptional organizations selected for the 2023 PVF," said Mehra. "We're so excited to learn from and with early childhood experts in this amazing cohort and our PVF coaches about how 1:1 virtual literacy instruction can play an even bigger role in helping all children make meaningful gains in literacy. This recognition affirms our dedication to making a positive difference in children's lives and underscores our work's impact."

"We are thrilled to welcome Hoot Reading into the cohort of our 5th Promising Ventures Fellowship program. Their innovative approach to literacy instruction and unwavering commitment to making a transformative impact in the lives of children resonated deeply with our Fellowship Team. We are eager to collaborate with Carly and Caitlin as Hoot Reading seeks to expand their reach and amplify their impact in the critical early childhood space," said Demetra Brown, Promising Venture’s Senior Program Manager.
