Hoot Reading Referral Program Terms
Hoot Reading may offer referral or other promotional programs (the “Program”) that allow Users to invite others to join Hoot Reading. These Referral Program Terms (“Referral Terms”) describe how the referral program works and the conditions for receiving referral rewards.
By participating in the referral program, you agree to these Referral Terms as well as the Hoot Reading Terms of Service and applicable policies.
Hoot Reading reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time.
Overview
The Hoot Reading Referral Program allows eligible Hoot Reading customers (“Referrers”) to refer friends, family members, or others (“Referees”) to Hoot Reading using a unique referral link.
If the Referee signs up and completes an eligible purchase, both the Referrer and Referee may receive promotional credits or discounts as described in these Referral Terms.
Referral rewards are provided as account credits or invoice discounts and are not redeemable for cash.
Eligibility
To participate as a Referrer, you must:
- Have an active Hoot Reading account with at least one active student plan.
- Have an account in good standing, meaning your account is not suspended and has no unresolved payment failures.
A Referee must meet the following conditions:
- The user must not currently have any students with an active Hoot Reading plan.
- The user must complete a qualifying purchase transaction in order to receive the reward discount.
- A user may only qualify as a Referee once. If a user has previously received a referral reward or discount, they are not eligible to receive additional referral rewards for future sign-ups.
Returning users may qualify as a Referee if their account has not had an active subscription for at least three months.
How Referrals Work
Eligible parents may receive a unique referral link inside the Hoot Reading app or through a Hoot Reading email. This link can be shared with friends, family, or others who may be interested in Hoot Reading.
When a new parent signs up using the referral link and completes the required steps described below, both the Referrer and the referred parent ("Referee") may receive a reward.
Referrers may share referral links through email, text message, social media, or other channels.
Referral Rewards
When a Referee completes a qualifying purchase, the Referrer will receive a $30 account credit applied as a discount to their next eligible invoice.
The Referee will receive a $30 discount applied to their first eligible invoice after signing up through a valid referral link.
Referral rewards are issued in the billing currency associated with each User’s Hoot Reading subscription. Currency is determined by the billing currency used for the account’s active subscription(s).
Rewards are applied as billing credits or invoice discounts only and are not provided or redeemable as cash or any other transferable value.
Referral Link Use
Each Referrer receives a unique referral link that can be shared with potential new customers. Referral links are available within the Hoot Reading application or may be included in marketing communications.
Referrers are responsible for sharing referral links in a lawful and appropriate manner.
Reward Timing
Referral rewards are issued to the Referrer after the Referee:
- Creates a Hoot Reading account through a valid referral link associated with the Referrer.
- Enrols a student in a Hoot Reading Tutoring plan. Credits cannot be applied to assessment or other one-time services.
- Successfully completes their first qualifying transaction.
Once these conditions are met, the referral reward will be applied. If the Referrer has multiple active student profiles, the credit will be applied to the Referrer’s next upcoming invoice for a Hoot Tutoring plan.
The Referee receives their reward on their first qualifying transaction.
Reward Attribution
Referral rewards are granted only when the referred parent (“Referee”) signs up through the Referrer’s unique referral link and the referral is properly tracked by Hoot Reading systems. If a referral link is not used or cannot be verified, the referral may not be eligible for a reward.
Program Limitations
The following limitations apply to the Program:
- Self-referrals are not permitted.
- Referral rewards may not be combined with certain other promotional offers, discounts, credits, or incentives at Hoot Reading’s discretion.
- Referral rewards applied in a billing cycle cannot exceed the value of the invoice. Excess credits may roll forward to future invoices while the Referrer maintains an active subscription.
If a subscription is cancelled or lapses, unused referral credits may be forfeited.
Additional program restrictions may apply.
Fraud and Abuse
Hoot Reading reserves the right to investigate referrals and disqualify rewards if activity appears fraudulent, abusive, or inconsistent with the intended use of the program. Hoot Reading may invalidate referrals, cancel rewards, or suspend accounts involved in activities, including duplicate accounts, self-referrals, or attempts to manipulate the referral program.
Hoot Reading reserves the right to review and investigate all referral activity. Hoot Reading may withhold or cancel referral rewards if fraudulent, suspicious, or abusive activity is detected.
Accounts found to be abusing the program may be suspended or terminated.
Program Changes or Termination
Hoot Reading may modify, suspend, or terminate the Program at any time. Modifications may include adjustments to reward amounts, eligibility requirements, or other program rules.
These changes may occur at any time and may apply to existing or future participants.
Limitation of Liability
Hoot Reading is not responsible for:
- Incorrect referral tracking due to technical errors
- Referral links that are modified, expired, or invalid
- Delays in reward issuance caused by payment processing or system errors
Disclosure
If you share a referral link publicly, you may be required to disclose that you may receive a reward or incentive from Hoot Reading for referrals where required by law.
Interpretation
All decisions regarding eligibility, rewards, and program participation are made at the sole discretion of Hoot Reading.
